My Captured Moment #4

Welcome to My Captured Moment, a weekly linky where I share my favourite ‘Captured Moments’ and invite you to do the same.

This week my captured moment is an oldie but a very goodie. This photo was taken on the day I met my baby brother for the first time. I was nineteen months old, so of course I have no memory of this momentous day but from the picture I seem pretty happy about the situation. My brother and I are very close in age so grew up together, we’ve always been friends and I know this is unusual but never really fell out as kids. He’s calm and kind, and one of the most selfless people I’ve ever known. On Sunday my baby brother turns 34, so he’s not so much a baby anymore. Happy Birthday little brother! xx

Having gone through this incredibly special moment with my own children, when Lili came into the hospital to see me and meet Poppy for the first time, I know exactly how my mother would have been feeling in this picture. Although, I must admit she looks like she’s ‘holding it together’ much better than I did. I was an emotional wreck, unable to control the tears of pride and joy from running down my face.

Share your Moments

Your ‘My Captured Moment’ can be a single picture or a series of shots, new (taken this week) or old, with or without words. The idea is to simply share a moment in time you’ve captured on your camera and make sure it doesn’t go unseen. This could include vintage shots of your own childhood and beyond or a simple picture you’ve recently taken and want to ‘show off’.

I know what you mean about that orangey tint, so typical of late 70s and early 80s shots. Yeah, this is a very important picture to me and my family. Thanks for linking up Victoria xxx

Ha ha thanks Sarah, I do love this photo - it’s just a shame my dad couldn’t be in it. He was behind the camera.

    Hi Heledd,
I’m super excited to link up with your linky as I love going through my photos remembering those special moments and now I get to do it every week. Your photo is a cracker. I have quite a few similar pics in my photo albums, especially with the same 70’s curtains, aren’t they great :)
