My Captured Moment #8

Welcome to My Captured Moment, a weekly linky where I share my favourite ‘Captured Moments’ and invite you to do the same.

This week ‘my captured moment’ is a random shot I took of Pops this week. It was five o’clock in the afternoon and she was having a mini (2 year old) tantrum, so I took her to the ‘time-out step’ to ‘think about her behaviour’. I went back two minutes later and found her like this, curled up in a little ball asleep. Of course I then felt awful, realising she was ‘playing-up’ because she was over tired.

After I took the photo on my phone I picked her up and she slept on my lap for thirty blissful minutes before we had supper. Thankfully, it didn’t affect bed time and she went down at 7.30pm as usual . Bless her, she must have been shattered - it was the tail end of half-term so maybe having her big sister home to play with had taken it out of her.

My Captured Moment #7

Welcome to My Captured Moment, a weekly linky where I share my favourite ‘Captured Moments’ and invite you to do the same.

This week ‘my captured moment’ is a series of shots I took a few days ago at Gatton Park. As you can see Lili was having a great time climbing in the woodlands - the light was magical and I love how the bright red of her hat really stands out.

For me these shots represent a moment in time, she’s four years old and loves being outdoors, exploring and finding adventure. We recently went to the cinema to watch ‘Into the Woods’ which is a musical retelling of a number of fairytale stories and these pictures really remind me of that film.

I also took this great shot of a very happy Poppy, which I know will always make me smile!

My Captured Moment #6

Welcome to My Captured Moment, a weekly linky where I share my favourite ‘Captured Moments’ and invite you to do the same.

This isn’t the best photo we’ve ever taken but it does mean a lot to us. It was taken moments after Dom proposed to me with that Haribo ring. It was our tenth anniversary and to be honest I was beginning to think he was never going to get down on one knee. Well he did and it was perfect!

We were staying at a beautiful small hotel in the south of France and that night we had the place to ourselves. The owner had plans, so he made us a delicious dinner and left us to enjoy it in the beautiful candle lit garden. The table was set, music was playing and after dinner he finally popped the question and naturally I said yes.

After we got home we went ring shopping and I got my dream ring.

My Captured Moment #5

Welcome to My Captured Moment, a weekly linky where I share my favourite ‘Captured Moments’ and invite you to do the same.

This week’s picture was taken the week after Poppy was born. Lili was only two and a half and as you can see, wasn’t too sure how to hold her little sister. However, I love the intensity in her eyes and I remember how proud she was to be holding her ‘baby sister’ all by herself for the first time. I have this photo framed on the fireplace and is one of my favourites.

Seconds after this shot was taken I had to rush in and save our poor little baby!

They’ve both grown so much in the past two years and have become the best of friends.

My Captured Moment #4

Welcome to My Captured Moment, a weekly linky where I share my favourite ‘Captured Moments’ and invite you to do the same.

This week my captured moment is an oldie but a very goodie. This photo was taken on the day I met my baby brother for the first time. I was nineteen months old, so of course I have no memory of this momentous day but from the picture I seem pretty happy about the situation. My brother and I are very close in age so grew up together, we’ve always been friends and I know this is unusual but never really fell out as kids. He’s calm and kind, and one of the most selfless people I’ve ever known. On Sunday my baby brother turns 34, so he’s not so much a baby anymore. Happy Birthday little brother! xx

Having gone through this incredibly special moment with my own children, when Lili came into the hospital to see me and meet Poppy for the first time, I know exactly how my mother would have been feeling in this picture. Although, I must admit she looks like she’s ‘holding it together’ much better than I did. I was an emotional wreck, unable to control the tears of pride and joy from running down my face.

My Captured Moment #3

Welcome to My Captured Moment, a weekly linky where I share my favourite ‘Captured Moments’ and invite you to do the same.

This week my captured moment is a series of pictures that were taken two years ago, the last time we had real snow here in Surrey. Lili was two and Poppy was a tinny baby in my arms. As you can see from these shots Lili loved it, she enjoyed running around and kicking the snow. Lets hope we have some more snow soon, I want to take more shots just like these…

My Captured Moment #2

Welcome to My Captured Moment, a weekly linky where I share my favourite ‘Captured Moments’ and invite you to do the same.

This week’s picture was taken almost two years ago on a rainy Sunday afternoon in March 2013. Lili was playing dress-up and decided she wanted her baby sister to join the fun. So she grabbed a few items from her dressing-up box and the result is here for you to see in this adorable picture. The girls are growing up so quickly, I’m glad I have all my pictures to keep these little moments alive in my mind.

My Captured Moment #1

Welcome to My Captured Moment, a weekly linky where you can share your favourite pictures.

I recently backed up my photos from the past five years and came across some special shots, little captured moments that might have been forgotten without these pictures. This got me thinking, why not share these captured moments and invite others to do the same. And just like that, this linky was born!
