The week before last we travelled to the South of France for our summer holiday. My husband is half French (his mother was from Nice) so we like to take the girls to France to experience some of their family heritage. It’s also an easy, short flight and at this time of year, you’re almost guaranteed beautiful warm weather. Not to mention the fact that it’s one of the most beautiful places on earth - in my opinion.
For the second year running we used AirBnB to find our holiday home and for the second year we were not disappointed! Last year we stayed in two different places near Uzes in north Provence. This year we stayed in one place for the whole week, in a place called Bras in west Provence and I’m so glad we decided not to move. The house we chose was perfect, it had a beautiful private pool, a gorgeous sun deck with an amazing view. The whole house had the feeling of being ‘outside’ with wide sliding doors and big windows on every wall. It even had an outside shower - as well as two indoor ones, if you weren’t feeling that adventurous.
The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you could possibly need, including a KitchenAid mixer, an expresso maker and even a bread maker (I kid you not). The house also had wifi and a large collection of music CDs to listen to and DVDs to watch. Not that we watched any TV during our time there, we spent most nights laying on the deck looking out at the star filled sky and spotting the odd constellation and shooting stars. Every night was a spectacular show!

The owner of this gorgeous house was so helpful and incredibly kind. We arrived to a number of gifts including three bottles of local wine, a lavender sachet, as well as chocolates and sweet treats for the girls. She also made sure we had all the information we needed about the area and even organised a taxi to take us to the airport. In short, she was the perfect host and we fell in love with her beautiful home.
