My Captured Moment #9

Welcome to My Captured Moment, a weekly linky where I share my favourite ‘Captured Moments’ and invite you to do the same.

This week ‘my captured moment’ is a shot that I took last September, on little miss’ first day at school. I was an emotional mess, and I could tell she was a little worried, apprehensive and nervous. Outside the school gates we ran into a girl, who we’d met a few times before the ‘big day’ (and who has since become a very good friend). She was a welcome familiar face in a sea of strangers and took Lili by the hand, they walked in together just like this - and didn’t look back.

Even though they’re not looking at the camera, you know that they’re sharing a very special moment. It marks the beginning of their lovely friendship and the beginning of their school life.

Share your Moments

Your ‘My Captured Moment’ can be a single picture or a series of shots, new (taken this week) or old, with or without words. The idea is to simply share a moment in time you’ve captured on your camera and make sure it doesn’t go unseen. This could include vintage shots of your own childhood and beyond or a simple picture you’ve recently taken and want to ‘show off’.

  1. Awww that pic makes me want to cry. Bless them.

I remember when I was in hospital — my first round of IVF — and I was really, really nervous. The lovely nurse took my hand and held it and I remember saying to her, isn’t it amazing how you find so much comfort from someone taking your hand? It’s such a lovely comforting feeling. So glad my boys will have a little hand to hold when they start school!! x

    • Oh Caro, your comment has just made me well up! It’s so true, there is real comfort in someone holding your hand. Thanks for linking up honey xxx

  2. What a brilliant capture and a memory ‘saved’ in some way. Imagine them being lifelong friends and reminiscing over that pictur in years to come. It holds so much delight, so much happiness, so much assurance, so much hope …. good job capturing it :-).

Loving the frame too, where did you get it?

Thanks for your lovely linky. #mycapturedmoment 9

  3. Oh so sweet, it must have given you some comfort to see her going in with someone. Although would have possibly made me even more emotional. Lucas wasn’t bothered he just ran in but I like that the twins will have someone to go in with, I suspect they will need it xx
