Yes, it’s time for my September favourites! Where I share a few of the things I’ve been loving of the past month. First of all, I must mention this weather we’re having right now! I know that’s very British of me, talking about the weather but as I sit here writing this post the warm sun is streaming in through the windows and onto my back – and it feels lovely.
Having said that, I am looking forward to the drop in temperature so that I can get out my winter woolies, coats and big scarfs. There is something so cosy about wrapping up and going out in the cool Autumn air. The colours are of course gorgeous at this time of year and I love going out for long country walks. Also, I always tend to change my lipstick shade and nail varnish to a warmer red or plumb colour around this time of year. Last week I managed an hour to myself and spent the time getting my nails painted a ‘vampy’ dark red.
This section could easily be turned into a few blog posts, as I can always ramble on about beauty products. I love them! But for the purpose of this post I’m going to specifically mention two products that I really have been ‘loving lately’. They’re both cult products that I’ve been meaning to try for a while but now that I have, I can’t imagine not having them on my dressing table. They’re the perfect remedy for parched autumn/winter skin.
Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Cream is a moisturiser that does exactly what it says on the pot. It has a dreamy lightweight texture that melts easily into the skin, making it perfect for daily use. Also it protects the skin throughout harsh weather conditions, so it’s ideal for the colder winter months ahead.
And Kiehl’s Daily Reviving Concentrate is a gorgeously light facial oil that keeps your skin looking and feeling radiant. Skin is literally strengthened and prepared for all daily aggressions, to keep it looking youthful and healthy. I tend to apply this overnight and wake to the softest feeling skin.
I must also mention that Kiehl’s currently have a limited edition version of my favourite Ultra Facial Cream, which they’re using to support MTV’s Staying Alive foundation to fight against the HIV and AIDS epidemic around the world. Designed by Laura Mvula, Kiehls will donate £10 to the foundation for every pot sold.
I’ve already mentioned that I love a good winter wooly and this jumper from Zara is just gorgeous. It’s cosy, it’s comfortable and above all it’s super soft to the touch. I’ll definitely be wearing a lot of this jumper over the next few months. I love the style, the colour, the cut and the length. For me it’s just a perfect winter ‘must-have’.
I admit it, I have a slight obsession when it comes to plates, bowls, cups and glassware. An obsession that drives my husband mad. I do understand why he gets so annoyed, because we have more than we need but when I saw this eclectic collection from the dotcomegiftshop, I just couldn’t resist. I love the mix and match design of this collection. Each piece is decorated with bright, prime colours and bold patterns. I just think they’re an ideal breakfast set and I love them.
My husband and I have recently been watching Ray Donavon on Amazon Prime, American Horror Story – Roanoke on FOX, Poldark on the BBC and Nashville on Sky Living (okay, I’m watching the last two on my own).
I’ve also been watching The Great British Bake-off and The X Factor with my two older girls for the first time. At last, they’re willing to watch ‘my shows’ and we can enjoy them together, because lets face it Peppa Pig was NEVER an enjoyable experience.
That’s it for now. Have a great month xx
