A Much Needed Treat at Solent Hotel & Spa

It’s never a bad day when you get an email inviting you to review a spa, especially when the treat includes a delicious lunch and a chance to catch up with lots of old blogging friends. Last week I was invited to Solent Hotel in Whiteley near Fareham for a day of pampering at their newly renovated Spa, which felt like a much needed treat.

I travelled down to Hampshire with my friends Bonnie from MamasVIB and Rosie from Mummy and Boo, which gave us a brilliant chance to catch up and talk all things blogging and Instagram. Once we arrived at Solent Hotel we were shown through to the Spa reception area and offered a delicious fruit smoothie while we filled out our treatment forms, before being given the full spa tour and handed fluffy bath robes and slippers. Honestly, as soon as I had my swimming costume on and that gorgeous towelling bath robe around me, I could feel the stresses of everyday life slipping away.

It was then time for my Caudalie facial, which was quite simply divine! I’ve been a fan of Caudalie products for years but this was my fist Caudalie facial. The products are all very gentle as the ingredients are all completely natural and derived from the family-owned vineyard in France. I decided to go for a hydrating facial with added anti-ageing properties. As you can see my skin was glowing after the treatment.

After an hour or so relaxing in the jacuzzi and lounging on a sun bed it was time for lunch. We were treated to a tasty lunch of; vegetable mezze bits and dips, followed by a rhubarb fool with homemade shortbread – both of which were delicious!! Not surprising really,  as the restaurant at the Solent Hotel is award winning.

With our tummy full we were invited into the hotle’s conservatory for a chart with the lovely women from Caudalie, who talked to us about the brand and gave us an interesting tutorial on their key products and how to apply them to our daily  skincare regime. They also gave us a sneaky peek at their newly launched sun care products, which smelt amazing!

The day then continued with us relaxing in the swimming pool and enjoying the spa facilities. By this point I was feeling very relaxed and not at all ready to leave. If only we could have checked into the hotel and stayed for the night – because the rest of the hotel looked so beautiful.

Thank you so much Solent Hotel for a truly blissful day. It also made me realise how important days like these are, days where you just switch off and relax for a few hours. I’ll definitely be booking another spa day very soon.

Disclaimer: I was invited to review the Solent Hotel Spa for free – but I was not paid for this post in any other way.
