Simpson Travel : We’re going to Kalkan!

Anyone who read my recent ‘Picking Our Dream Holiday’ post will know that choosing our family summer holiday has not been easy this year. I’m working with luxury travel brand Simpson Travel, who have kindly offered us a family holiday as part of our year long partnership. The only problem is picking one of their stunning hotels and villas - it was tough enough to narrow it down to a few, let alone pick one.

So how and why did I finally choose Kalkan? First of all I spoke with Dylan, a travel expert from Simpson Travel who helped me to come up with my ‘perfect holiday’ wish list…

- A luxury modern villa (I told him we preferred the bigger space that a villa offers, over a hotel room.)

- Has a nearby beach

- Beautiful sea views

- Our own, private swimming pool (this was top of the girls’ wish list)

- In an area that has an authentic charm

From this list, Dylan sent me a number of options that were available on our selected dates and that fitted the brief perfectly. At this point I could have happily booked any of the villas on his list, because they were all gorgeous and had everything I’d asked for and more. However, I needed to pick one and after going through all the options I decided that Kalkan would be perfect for us.

The pretty town centre is a treasure trove of narrow streets, whitewashed Ottoman houses and inviting boutiques. I just loved everything about that description, from the turquoise coast to the narrow streets and rooftop restaurants. It all sounded absolutely idillic and exactly what I was after.

Also, this summer Simpson Travel are offering a complimentary all-day excursion on a traditional gület boat (including a delicious lunch) with every holiday booked to Kalkan. If I’m honest the sound of this beautiful boat trip on the turquoise sea swung it for me, which is why we chose Villa Jasmine.

I can’t wait to get going now and experience this stunning view in person. I’m already envisaging nights sat outside the villa looking down on this gorgeous view, sipping a refreshing cocktail or two.

Due to the luxury nature on the Simpson Travel brand, you’ll never see a sale on their site or a bargain area, however they do have a last minute section that have some late availability at a more reasonable price. The main thing to remember with Simpson Travel is that they offer the best possible customer service and their hotels and villas are all of the highest, luxury standard, so you know that you won’t be disappointed.
