Beauty Pie – Is it worth the Hype?

The premium beauty industry have (for years) been fixated on beautiful, expensive packaging that looks good on our dressing table – and while I love luxurious packaging as much as the next beauty fan, if I can get the same ‘high end’ products at a fraction of the price, (without the fancy packaging) I’m definitely going to be interested! This is exactly what Beauty Pie are offering – luxury products at ‘factory cost’ prices.

Beauty Pie, affordable beauty, skin care and makeup

Beauty Pie is essentially a new twist on the monthly subscriptions model. Think of it like the Netflix of the beauty world – you pay a monthly fee, which then allows you to buy premium skincare, makeup and beauty accessories at a massively discounted price. For example, a foundation with a recommended retail price (or non-member price) of £30 would cost you around £6 or £7. The subscription allows you to buy up to £50 (£5 a month fee) £100 (£10 a month fee) or £150 (£15 a month fee) worth of full retail price products per month. Any unused ‘credit’ will roll over to the next month, giving you more freedom to spend more in your next shop.

I decided to try the lowest subscription option of £5 per month, giving me a value limit of £50 each month.

Breaking it down, after I’ve paid the cost of the discounted products + delivery + my monthly subscription fee, I usually spend around £30 to £35 per month/ order, which is not bad for three or four products.

So what did I order? And are they any good?

Here’s what I’ve ordered…

Japanfusion Pure Transforming Cleanser

Super Retinol + Vitamin C Night Renwal Moisturizer

Super Healthy Skin Daily Moisture Lotion

Sheer Tinted Oil-Free SPF20 (medium)

Super Moisture Lip Balm

Supercolour Eyeliner

Beauty Pie, affordable beauty, skin care and makeup

My thoughts…

I could break it down for you and give you a full product review of each item (I may do this in later posts) but for now I don’t need to – when actually all you want to know is are they any good? Is Beauty Pie worth all the hype?

In one word, yes! So far I have not found one product that lets the brand down. I’ve honestly loved every product I’ve tried and am already looking to reorder some of the items. And from a girl who’s lucky enough to be gifted a lot of beauty products that says it all!

My main two stand out products have been…

Japanfusion Pure Transforming Cleanser (one of the best cleansers I’ve ever tried!)

Super Retinol + Vitamin C Night Renwal Moisturizer (a brilliant night cream that goes on beautifully)

Beauty Pie, affordable beauty, skin care and makeup

The Beauty Pie concept itself is pretty innovative and I’ll be very interested to see how it will work out long-term, as I’ve noticed that they’re currently out of stock of many of my favourite items, which isn’t great.  However,  there’s definitely space for this kind of affordable luxury in the beauty market and I won’t be cancelling my subscription any time soon.
