8/1: Five Things I Love This Monday

I find this time of year tough and I know I’m not alone. Nothing serious, just a mild case of the January blues or a slight Christmas comedown. The new year always seems to unsettle me, leaving me feeling uneasy about the year ahead. What will it bring? It also makes me question and doubt myself, which is why I’ve never set myself a new year’s resolutions… until now!

This year, I’ve challenged myself to write a positive “Five Things I Love This Monday” post every week (or at least most weeks). I’m not the biggest Monday fan, so this will also give me a reason to be positive at the beginning of each week.

Here goes then, the things I love this week are…

1 Binge watching Peaky Blinders with Dom, every night. We’re totally hooked at the moment, watching two or three episodes every night. Although, at the rate we’re going (and the fact that there’s only 24 episodes in total) we’ll be finished very soon!

2 This absolutely amazing LANAIBLO hairdryer, which also happens to have my name on it! Without question, this is the best hairdryer I’ve ever owned. Its Ionic Technology gives a professional anti-static, perfectly smooth, shiny finish every time. And since I don’t really enjoy drying my hair (who does?), the best thing about this powerful dryer is that it dries my hair in half the time.

3 Reading these Little People, Big Dreams books with my little ladies. We’ve got four of them at the moment (Coco Chanel, Audrey Hepburn, Rosa Parks and Marie Curie) and I literally can’t wait to get more of them. I love stories that inspire my girls and capture their little imaginations – and these books definitely do that! They’re also beautifully illustrated and teach the girls about amazing women in history.

4 This MatteLast Liquid Lip collection from Pixi by Petra. They give a beautiful, chic matte finish with one easy sweep of the lip. There’s five pinky/ nude shades in the collection and I’m loving all of them. They’re also beautifully hydrating, long-lasting and the liquid colour dries in seconds, leaving a pretty matte, veil of colour. In the fist picture (above), I’m wearing ‘Pastel Petal’.

5 Searching for some Easter sun. Dom has a big birthday coming up this year (around that time) so we’d like to celebrate with a gorgeous holiday. Nothing’s booked yet but I’m enjoying all the online research and holiday porn during these dark winter nights.

That’s it for this week. If you’d like to join in, please feel free to write your own post and let me know in the comments below, so that I can pop over and have a read.

We always plan holidays during January too – the greyness gets to me and I find that I need something positive to look forwards to. Those books look ace – I’ll look into them for my girls I think.
